A couple quick stories about Dale. First of all, he never swore. He
was a hard worker who loved to fish. Once, he was in a bar fight and bit
the ear off one of two men who were attacking him. He proceeded to throw
the other man through the bar window. Another time while with his father
in Burlington, IA, they got into a bar fight and Dale was shot in the abdomen.
They escaped by swimming across the Mississippi River. He was also a member
of the KKK. He also did not believe in sparing the rod.
Alice was a house wife, busy raising 10 of 12 children. She was active in the Baptist Church in Kewanee. She never had a driver license and found no need to get one.
